Holiday Scavenger Hunts are a tradition in our house. With the Elf on the Shelf arrival a few Christmases ago, a Scavenger Hunt for Elf on the Shelf had to join the mix.

These Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt Clues use common places around the house. Each clue is listed below along with where to hide it, and fun ideas for the hiding places if you want to make it even more fun.

Clue #1
Come and find me! Just follow the clues!
The first place to check is with the things you put on before shoes.

Where to Hide: Since this is the first clue, place it where your child will see it right away in the morning.

Clue #2
Your socks are so comfy. I wanted to sleep.
But my stomach was growling so I got something to eat.

Where to Hide: In your child’s sock drawer.
Fun Ideas: Place the clue in a new pair of socks, Put a little pillow with the clue like Elf on the Shelf was sleeping.

Clue #3
That was yummy, but it was too cold to stay.
Where wet clothes get dry is a warmer place to lay.

Where to Hide: In the freezer.
Fun Ideas: Open an item in the freezer like Elf on the Shelf was eating, Place crumbs around the clue
