If you’ve got an anniversary coming up, whether it’s been 1 year or 5 years, it’s a great idea to try and surprise your partner. If you’re not sure how to spend the day or what to give as an anniversary gift, I’ve got a few you can use to celebrate the special day!

Whether you want the day to be big and romantic or small and sweet, one of these ways to surprise your significant other on your anniversary should work!

Ways To Surprise Your Significant Other
On Your Anniversary

Send Them Something Romantic at Work

If your significant other works a draining job, send them something in the middle of the day to cheer them up! Having to spend your anniversary at work isn’t fun, but even less fun if you also dislike your job.

A surprise gift brought to them by a co-worker will certainly put a smile on their face! Make sure the gift is workplace friendly and can be opened there without embarrassment or offense, a.k.a., no naughty, novelty gag gifts!

Leave Your Gift For Them To Find

Some people like to do scavenger hunts. Some people like to leave a trail of petals leading towards a gift or a romantic meal they’ve set up. You can also just leave a gift and a card in a place you know they visit or look at often, such as in the dresser or on their desk at work. It’s a small surprise but it’ll have a super big impact – they’ll start their day knowing you’ve thought about them, you understand them, you recognize what they do, and you know they’ve got a love of lab diamonds and sparkly jewelry they can wear whenever they want.

Decorate the House

Transform your home into a romantic paradise and enjoy a date night in together. Put up pictures of the two of you, turn down the lights, light some romantic smelling candles, and cover the floor in love hearts or fake flower petals. Decorating the house to look great for an anniversary is super easy and is wonderful for them to come home to.

Throw a Surprise Party

Finally, if you really want to surprise your significant other on your anniversary, throw a surprise party! This way it’s not just the two of you who can celebrate your love – all of your loved ones can celebrate as well and shower you in love! If your partner is a bit of a social butterfly, they’ll definitely love this idea. If they’re a bit more introverted, you can still surprise them, but only invite one or two close friends you know won’t drain their social battery.

An anniversary surprise should be special every year. If you want to plan something that’ll blow their expectations clean out of the water, use a combination of the above tips for a totally romantic day!
