Pretty soon Peter Cottontail will be hopping down the bunny trail. While you are planning the menu for Easter brunch, and thinking about Easter basket fillers, don’t forget about that egg hunt.
Easter egg hunts are one of those memorable moments, even for older kids. These fun ways to mix up your Easter egg hunt make it more than just finding eggs for tweens and teens!
They don’t require much more effort on our part as parents, so we can still enjoy all that family time and smiles! Plus, they all still include yummy candy and the MARS Mixed Mini Bag® makes it easy to cover any of the ideas.
Big Easter Egg Hunt
While hiding all the traditional Easter eggs for the hunt, fill a big egg for each child and write their name on it. Bonus candy and quarters are what go in our big eggs, but you can fill them with whatever you’d like.
When the hunt begins, let the kids know there is a big special egg out there for each of them, and to find the one with their name on it. Remind them not to give away the hiding place of anyone else’s egg, if they see it.
Easter Basket Scavenger Hunt
Hide eggs around the yard with Easter scavenger hunt clues inside of them. Each clue leading them to a different place in the yard until they reach an Easter basket at the end.
A big Easter basket filled with candy and fun items for all the kids to enjoy together after the hunt is over. I’m giving you permission now to sneak a few TWIX® and SNICKERS® while filling that basket, too! (PS: You can grab printable Easter Egg Hunt Clues at the end of the post for this idea!)
Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt
Another fun egg hunt for older kids, or evening Easter dinners, is a glow in the dark egg hunt. Fill eggs with candy and mini glow sticks, and let the kids run around the yard finding the eggs. Call me cheesy, but I want to save all the MILKY WAY® minis for this hunt!
Hopefully these fun ways to mix up your Easter egg hunt gave you some new ideas. Easter will be here before we know it, so shop early and stock up on the Mars Mixed Mini Bags® at Sam’s Club, for all those mini moments this spring.

I love these ideas. It would be fun to do a glow in the dark Easter Egg Hunt. We always put together scavenger hunts with clues too.

We used to do this when my children were young. It was such a fun time. However, now that they are all grown up, we will continue with the tradition but this time, it will be the grandchildren’s turn. I’m so excited. This will be their first Easter egg hunt. 🙂

I’m sure we could come up with some fun things to hide in eggs for adults too! Have to make it really tricky and have them spin around in circles on a bat before running off to find eggs though, lol!
