Last weekend I was invited up to Minnesota for a complimentary stay at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel. I’ve previously stayed at Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Hollywood Hotel and love each for their own reasons.
I was excited to find my reasons to fall in love with the Loews Hotel Minneapolis. From the second we pulled into valet the relaxation washed over us and we felt like two lovebirds pre-kids.
Needless to say, I was excited for the next two days and Loews Minneapolis is the perfect place to stay for a couples getaway.

Couples Getaway
Comfortable Inviting Rooms
Walking into the corner room at Loews Hotel Minneapolis felt like stepping into a master suite with a beautiful skyline view. The bed beckoning us to climb in and get comfortable. Corner chair calling my name to curl up with a book.
Relaxing color of blues and greens swirling above the headboard. I wanted to box up the entire room as is and take it home with me.
Beautiful View of Minneapolis Skyline
The beautiful skyline view of Minneapolis is captivating. From watching the sunrise casting hues of pinks and oranges across the city to the bustling nightlife of rooftop patios and neon signs. If you are in the room at sunrise or sunset it’s pretty romantic to watch it together, just saying.
Prime Location
Loews Minneapolis is located across the street from Target Center making it the perfect place to stay if you are in town for an event. It’s also close to lots of restaurants, bars, and popular spots in Minneapolis like Walker Art Center and Minnehaha Falls. We didn’t have to drive more than 15 minutes to get anywhere that we were going, making it a great place to stay for any weekend getaway in Minneapolis.
Mind-Blowing Food and Drinks
We dined at both restaurants inside the Loews Minneapolis Hotel. Both experiences offered mind-blowing food and drinks. Starting with the perfect Old Fashioned at Apothecary Lounge.
Situated on the first level of the hotel next to check-in, you can relax on one of the couches near the giant wall screen TV or have little more privacy for dinner in the room off to the side that felt like a fancy study in a mansion with super comfy seating.
At Apothecary Lounge you can build your own Old Fashioned or tell the bartenders what you like and let them create one to your liking. If you can’t decide I highly suggest the latter.
That’s what I did as I had never had an Old Fashioned before, and it was SO good. The bartender rubbed almond around the glass, flavored it with almond and oranges.
Apothecary Lounge also offers food to go with those evening drinks. For dinner, my husband ordered the burger that he said was the best he’d ever had and “was cooked to perfection”. I went with fried walleye and the portion was HUGE and tasty!
We fueled up with the breakfast buffet at Cosmos on the morning before we left. This restaurant offers a dinner menu in addition to a breakfast menu but with the spread they lay out for the breakfast buffet it was an easy choice for us! Bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, quiche muffins, waffles, pastries, salmon, potatoes, fruit, parfaits, and more.
Located on the 4th floor next to Cosmos is the champagne bar, Relevé. Beautiful ambiance and more wines and champagne than I’ve seen in any hotel bar. You can also “play bartender” and create your own cocktails. Next time I visit I’m planning a night relaxing here!
Flavor Minneapolis by Loews Hotels
Speaking of the food, you can enjoy some of the most distinct and delicious local food and beverage makers in Minneapolis thanks to Flavor Minneapolis by Loews Hotels. You can take your taste buds on a tour through best eats in the city right at Loews Hotel!
We were greeted with charcuterie board handpicked by the chef that included Mademoiselle Miel local honey, meats and cheeses from The Herbivorous Butcher, and more. You’ll also find the Flavor by Loews Hotels program at Loews Miami Beach Hotel – YUM!
Rejuvenate at Embury Spa
Located on the 6th floor of Loews Minneapolis is Embury Spa. My husband and I enjoyed the Couples Bliss Package before starting our 6-hour drive back home.
Let me tell ya, it was hard to leave after the fabulous treatment we received and the spa itself is fabulous!
You can read more in-depth about our Embury Spa Experience and it’s definitely something you want to add to your itinerary when you visit Minneapolis. Even if you aren’t staying at Loews you can use spa services and valet for free. They have a very popular Half-Day Spa Package that includes up to three hours of holistic treatment, food, and use of the gym.
