These are simple ways to really help keep that connection and bond between you and your spouse. We live in a world that is so full of schedules, to-do list, and it can leave minimal time for quality time.
Make your marriage a priority and do these simple tips and watch your marriage do well through the years.
Simple Ways to Stay Connected With Your Spouse
Compliment Each Other Regularly
Take the time to compliment each other and give affirmations. Tell them why you love them, how you like their hair that way, the outfit, etc.
Find ways to let your spouse know why you love them, and even after being together for awhile you still admire them. Thank them for tasks they do whether mowing the lawn, doing dishes, taking care of the kids while you were away, to show you see their effort.
Make Time For Each Other
Even if you have young kids at home and can’t find a sitter, make time for each other. Stay up after the kids go to sleep and just talk. Curl up and watch a movie, just make time to do something together that you both enjoy.
If you can get out of the house maybe plan date nights for each other, go to your favorite restaurant, take a new class with each other, and so on. Quality time is a must, if you don’t spend time together it is easy to disconnect and grow apart.
Physical Touch and Intimacy
Physical touch is something that a marriage needs and a must to stay connected with your spouse. Touching the small of their back while you are standing in line, holding hands while you walk through the park, a hug when you leave.
Those kinds of moments can help spark that connection with your spouse, and try to make time each day to do just that. Having affection will help keep intimacy alive in your marriage, and that is essential.
Surprise Each Other
Make sure to go out of your way to surprise each other periodically. This is a great way to show that you are thinking of your significant other.
Maybe make them their favorite dinner, buy some flowers or chocolates for no reason, give them tickets to a football game. Just do something that makes them know they are cared for. Even if you write a note and leave it where you know they will find it or send a sexy text, the surprises don’t have to cost money.
Respect Each Other
Respecting each other doesn’t always happen. When you feel disrespected by people it can leave you angry and you can begin to put walls up. Make sure that you choose your words wisely and always show respect to your spouse even if you are angry.
