Sour Gummy Worm Edible Silly Putty
This DIY silly putty recipe only needs three ingredients and a little arm muscle to make. A great activity for rainy spring days and makes very little mess.
Ingredients for Edible Silly Putty Recipe
- 1 Bag of sour gummy worms
- Corn Starch
- Powdered sugar
How to Make Sour Gummy Worm Edible Silly Putty
First, place the bag of sour gummy worms in a microwave-safe bowl. Place the bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, and check to see if the gummy worms are starting to melt.
If not, continue microwaving in 10-second intervals until melted. It took about 40 seconds for ours to melt in a 1,000 watts microwave.
Once gummy worms have melted, stir thoroughly with a spoon to mix the colors well. Next, add 1 tablespoon of corn starch to the bowl and mix well.
Then, add 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar and mix thoroughly. Now, the mixture will become hard to stir so do the best you can, smooshing the mixture with the back of the spoon to expose new sticky areas to the powdered sugar and corn starch in your bowl really helps.
Slowly add in more cornstarch ½ tablespoon at a time until the mixture is no longer as sticky. It took about 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar and 2 ½ tablespoons of cornstarch for us.
Place a little cornstarch on your hands and take the mixture out of the bowl. Work it in your hands, adding a dusting of corn starch as needed, until it is no longer tacky.
Now you can play with the edible sour gummy worm silly putty! Because it is edible it doesn’t store well so you’ll want to discard after playing.
