If you love chili cheese dogs you’re going to love this Chili Cheese Dog Casserole for Halloween! I like making fun meals for my family on holidays.
Easy things that make the day special and a tradition I’ve carried on from my mom. She always colored our milk and scrambled eggs for holiday breakfasts and dinners were themed to the occasion. With a few “dead” hot dogs you can turn this yummy casserole into a Halloween dinner.
Chili Cheese Dog Casserole
for Halloween
Did I mention how simple this casserole is too make? All you have to do is layer everything in the casserole dish as you would using the buns as the base. It takes 5-6 buns for a 9X13 casserole dish and 3-4 for a 9X9.
Top that with sliced hot dogs and chili from a can or homemade if you’re making it. Finish things off with lots of cheddar cheese and a few “dead” hot dogs and you’ve got yourself dinner!
To make “dead” hot dogs simply cut a slit about 1/4 of the way to make the legs. Then, on the opposite end of the legs make two little hunks on the edges but keep them attached so they hang out like arms.
Lay them on top of the chili cheese dog casserole and toss it in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melty and bubbly.
