Last St. Patrick’s Day, we had a visit from a Leprechaun! On St. Patrick’s Day Eve, I read the kiddos the Legend of the Leprechaun and we made a Leprechaun Treasure Box.
My son LOVED this idea since he was adamant about making a trap to catch a Leprechaun. Creating a Leprechaun Treasure Box is a fun idea to do with your kids on St. Patrick’s Day if you are looking for something new to do next year.
Creating a Leprechaun
To create a Leprechaun Treasure Box, start with an empty shoe box. Decorate your box with a St. Patrick’s Day theme with things like green construction paper, glue sticks, other colored construction paper for rainbows. When we were done creating our Treasure Box, I read the kiddos the “Legend of the Leprechaun“ that I found.
Then we left the Leprechaun Treasure Box in their bedroom, by the window so any leprechauns that visited would find it. When the kids woke up in the morning they found a trail of gold and chocolate coins leading to the hiding place of their Leprechaun Treasure Box. Inside they found fun treasures!!
