5 Ideas for Reusing School Supplies

School is winding down for the year and the kids are excited! You know what that means?

Your table is about to become filled with leftover school supplies. Once you have sorted through what can be used again next year, put the rest to a good use by reusing school supplies! All those crayons, pencils, and everything else in between.

Ideas for Reusing School Supplies

PAPER: Take all the leftover papers (that were only used on one side) and use a binder clip to turn it into a new notepad! This would be the perfect size for jotting down messages, writing notes to friends they miss or even letting toddlers scribble all over them. You could even give one to each child for them to record their summer adventures in.

CRAYONS: You can have all sorts of fun with broken crayons. Check out Instructables for lots of ideas to create with melted down crayons! There is also a Crazy Crayons Recycle Program that turns crayon rejects into crayons again but there is a fee for shipping.

MARKERS: Dried out markers can be turned into watercolor pens by dipping the dried-out tips in water.

BACKPACKS: If the backpack isn’t salvageable for next year, put it to a great use by storing your gardening tools inside of it. If trips to the beach are planned, it would be great to haul the sand toys in. Summer sports are in full swing and you could toss the backpack in the car trunk to coral all the sports gear.

BINDERS: Binders can be fixed up and reused. Clean up old ones by scrubbing off any writing or marks, if you can. Fix up rips or tears with some cheap colored duct tape or stickers. Use them to store favorite recipes from magazines, artwork and keepsakes from the school year, or even turn it into your coupon binder!

Do you have an idea for those leftover school supplies?
