You know when you travel somewhere and you never want to leave? Somewhere that’s so unbelievably amazing you consider moving there?
That’s exactly how I felt staying at The Buckhead in Estes Park. We booked it through Vacasa at the beginning of February and couldn’t have been more pleased with EVERYTHING! Especially the wildlife in the yard.
The Buckhead in Estes Park
While looking for a vacation rental in Colorado there were several Vacasas that caught my eye. Two things made The Buckhead in Estes Park stand out and one of those things was the wildlife. The opportunity to see mule deer feasting in the yard sold me.
Mule deer and possibly mountain goats (I’m not sure as I didn’t want to get too close and scare them off) visited us several times during our 3-night stay. There’s a notebook in the house where guests have left notes and one family even saw a beer out on the road to the house! Can you imagine how awesome that would be too see?!
Another thing that sold me was the location. Just minutes from downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park yet the feeling of seclusion situated among the mountains. The views out every window in The Buckhead where breathtaking but my favorite spot was from up in the loft.
The Buckhead is a 3 bedroom + loft home with plenty of space for a family or two to relax on a trip to Estes Park. Each bedroom had its own bathroom with the master bedroom having a beautiful deep tub and separate shower.
Massive ceilings create a beautiful open space for the living room and dining room. We kicked back and relaxed on the couch in the evening while watching movies.
I also read several ghost story books I found on a shelf about the local Stanley Hotel which inspired Stephen King’s The Shining.
I wish I could have boxed up the entire kitchen and brought it home with me. Having a full kitchen is a fantastic feature especially when traveling with family.
The Buckhead kitchen has a stove, fridge, Keurig, tons of appliances and dishware and cookware. Basically, you just bring the food you need and the rest is already there, even dish soap!
We didn’t use the attached screened in porch but thanks to the fireplace it’s an all-season porch the offers amazing views of the mountains at sunrise and sunset and well, any time of day really.
I could picture myself sitting out there in the spring as the sun rises, listening to the birds’ chirp and breathing in all that delicious fresh air.
Another way to soak up all the Colorado mountain air is by taking a dip in the hot tub. The Buckhead in Estes Park has it’s own hot tub and yes, you can use it the winter and no, I wasn’t brave enough to get in.
With my fear of getting altitude sickness (which I didn’t experience at all thank goodness) and the chilly 20-degree temps we opted not to get in but there’s always next time.
I could go on and on about all the reasons I fell in love with The Buckhead and I highly recommend this Vacasa vacation rental if you are planning a trip to Estes Park, Colorado. Everything is just like it shows on Vacasa, the largest full-service vacation management rental company in North America.
Since 2009 Vacasa has been helping homeowners buy, sell, and manage their vacation homes as well as helping travelers find an easier and more personalized way to plan their vacations. You’ll feel like you are at home as soon as you step inside a Vacasa vacation rental and you’ll never want to leave.
