During our Delivery Man Red Carpet Event we got the chance to sit down with two of the Delivery Man stars! Chris Pratt plays Brett in Delivery Man and portrays one of the best supporting character roles I have seen this year.
Cobie Smulders plays Emma in Delivery Man and I wish we had have seen more of her in the film. Delivery Man hit theaters over the weekend and I encourage you all to see it. With a great story line, evolving characters, and attention grabbing scenes, Delivery Man is an all around great movie!
Cobie Smulders Interview
My Favorite Things that Cobie Smulders said during the Delivery Man Interview
- There are crazy emotions that come into play when you’re pregnant and Smulders craves, and she thinks that pregnant women do crave, is stability.
- Smulders I loved working with Vince Vaughn. She said he is everything that you would kind of expect him to be. Super funny, super quick. going into Delivery Man she was very intimidated because he’s sort of known for his amazing improv and she was very rusty. He was so supportive and very considerate and very charming. Like he really goes out of his way to put everyone at ease on set and set the tone for everybody.
- What Smulders really liked about the Delivery Man Story was the way that Vince’s character, David, chose to reconnect, not even reconnect, to connect for the first time with his children that were his biologically. She really loved the way that Ken wrote these scenes and also the way that it all sort of played out.
You can catch Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and as Robin on How I Met Your Mother.

Chris Pratt Interview
My Favorite Things that Chris Pratt said during the Delivery Man Interview
- Pratt wasn’t able to relate to his character’s journey as a father in this movie because he was so overwhelmed with the idea of being a father. (He had a son during ilming.) He was still finding every little tiny thing endlessly fascinating about his own son, but he did miss him a lot. There were moments in the performance where he needed to just stare off into space and think about something that bummed him out. The fact that he was away from his son was something that he could go to if he needed to so that was his way out.
- Pratt gained 70 pounds for his Delivery Man role. He had lost a lot of weight for Zero Dark Thirty so his body was ready to gain weight when it came time for Delivery Man. His wife, Anna Farris, was in her last trimester of pregnancy so a good 20lbs was sympathy weight. It took him seven to eight months to loose the weight after filming.
- Pratt loved working with Vince Vaughn. He’s beloved by people, his fans and people because he just seems real. Like a regular guy and he’s everything you would really hope that he would be if you’re a fan of his. He’s not like some Hollywood A hole. He’s no nonsense when it comes down to doing work. He does work and makes sure everyone around him does good work and that’s important as the captain of the ship. But at the same time he’s charming, caring and polite. He’s polite to everyone from the people who are his weight staff at restaurants to fans and strangers on the street who approach him, who like him. He always gives a little bit of himself to people so he’s really everything you’d hope he would be.
- Once you see Delivery Man, you’ll see that this isn’t a movie that’s a laugh a minute comedy. There are beats that are funny laughs in the movie but essentially everything is teetered to like a very strong, dramatic through line that each of the scenes we’re in. The funny scenes that are supposed to be funny are funny. There were some moments that were particularly funny, for Pratt in particular working with these young kids that he was working with, they were just amazing kids. For the most part it’s actually pretty dramatic in terms of the turns that the characters taken and the way the scenes are shaped so it wasn’t like being on the set of Old School or Wedding Crashers or one of Vaughn’s other more outlandish comedies.
- Pratt like the Delivery Story because it went to real places. About halfway through when Wozniak starts his journey on finding out who the kids are and some of them are crazy like a professional NBA player like wow, that’s amazing or an actor who need a role and he helps him get the role and that’s great. Then all of a sudden you’ve got a kid who has needed assistance his entire life and lives in an assistant living home and that’s like then all of a sudden you’re, you’re moved and there’s a girl who is, you know, chemical dependency issues and you’re starting to deal with these themes and these realities that make it a real examination of humanity.
You can catch Chris Pratt in the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

I have been a fan of both Pratt and Smulders for sometime now and it was so great to see how real they are in person. They were funny and even bantered back and forth with each other which was great.
I got have a very special moment with Mr. Pratt at the Delivery Man after party. One I will never forget. I had created a #FlatChris that I shared with all of you before I left. #FlatChris kept me company during my layover and again on the plane.
Then…… #FlatChris got to meet the real Chris Pratt! How freaking awesome is that?! Now #FlatChris has a new home in LA with a very special person, no, not Chris Pratt and a new name, #RippedChris and hopefully we will meet again!
To end the interview, Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders were kind enough to take a group photo with us!
