Why I Added Daily Supplements to My Routine

Four years ago I started working out and focusing on what I eat. I’ve been in maintenance mode for the past year and half. I’m still working out, mostly strength based, and eating well the majority of the time. It was an entire lifestyle change for me and I’m still committed.

Now, I’m ready to start taking my health and wellness seriously in other ways. Tracking my food to ensure I’m getting enough of the right things, figuring out a consistent sleep routine, and taking daily supplements to help where I need a boost.

Why add supplements to my daily routine? I turn 44 this year and am noticing changes in my body and how I feel. Lack of energy, trouble sleeping, thinning hair, and dull skin are just a few things I’ve noticed.

Two of my now daily essentials are Iron Supplement and Biotin from Naked Nutrition. I care about what I put into my body and wanted supplements with no additives. Naked is made in the USA and they source the best ingredients while leaving out the junk, fitting in well with the healthy lifestyle I have been creating for myself.

I decided to start taking Naked Iron Supplement because each serving has 65mg of iron to help enhance energy, reduce fatigue, and improve sleep quality.

I’ve been taking one with my protein shake for breakfast each morning. I’m about a week into taking one daily, and results are typically seen in 2-4 weeks. I’m looking forward to some amazing nights of sleep. I’ll come back and update you in a few weeks with how I’m feeling after I finish my first bottle!

Another addition to my daily routine is Naked Biotin that I take when I eat dinner. My main reason for taking Biotin is because it helps nourish hair and skin, something I desperately need nourished right now. That, and I’m tired of broken nails everyday and Biotin helps strengthen them.

With 10,000 mcg of biotin per serving, an added bonus to my wellness journey is that it helps convert carbs, fat, and proteins into energy. When you’re in your 40’s with kids and a full time job, we need all the help we can get in the energy department, am I right?

Results of taking Biotin daily are typically seen around 3 months. I will come back and update you in June after I’ve been taking it for 3 months, and let you know my thoughts then!

Some other supplements I’m considering added to my routine are collagen and something for gut health. I’ve read that collagen helps so many different aspects of the body, but joint health is why I’ve looked into it. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you are taking either one.
