This post on Turning Stressful Moments into Sweet MOMents was sponsored by Budget Saver Twin Pops as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. All opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Having four kids, I encounter a lot of stressful moments throughout my day. From a teen with a crammed schedule, a tween who wants 24/7 attention, and twins crying because one got to swing “14 hours” longer than the other. When those tears start falling, I get busy turning stressful moments into sweet MOMents.

Tips on Turning Stressful Moments into Sweet MOMents

MOMent is short for a “Mom-Moment!” All those stressful situations that moms can quickly resolve with Budget Saver Twin Pop. Budget Saver Twin Pops make every situation a sweet MOMent and I’ve got a few tips to go along with them.

Distracting from Activities

My husband says I’m magic, but really I’ve just mastered the art of distraction. This comes in handy with toddlers and preschoolers especially. When bad behavior or a tantrum is brewing, I distract them.

When one of the twins starts crying or fighting about something, instead of stressing out I start dancing silly and they usually join me. Other times I distract with a new activity, or by pointing out something awesome like “do you see that cool bug over there?!”.

A different activity, something to make them laugh, or a cold summer treat usually distracts from what was happening. Before they realize it, they’ve forgotten all about what was upsetting them.

Winding Down Outdoor Time

It used to be stressful trying to get my kids to come in from playing outside. Didn’t matter how long we played outside, how hot it was, or how dirty they were. They would whine and try to run off when it was time to go in.

Once I started a countdown it, it got a lot smoother. When we are at the park, they get a 10-minute, 5-minute, and 3-minute warning before heading to the car. At home, they get 10 minute and 5-minute warnings, and usually, at the 5-minute warning, they get Twin Pops to enjoy before heading in.

Do you remember these delicious pops? Invented during the great depression, Budget Saver Twin Pops were designed so two children could split one for a nickel.

They began packing six assorted flavors in one bag back in 1989 – I was just 8 years old! Now it’s my 4-year-old twins who love sharing them like they are the wishbone of summer.

Sneaking 5 Minutes of Me Time

Sometimes stepping away is what you need to do in a stressful moment. They’ve made a mess in every room, made muddy footprints across the floor, or one of the million other messes that come with summer.

Sneak 5 minutes of me time and calm your thoughts before heading back into the war zone. I’m giving you permission to sneak a Twin Pop for yourself while you are at it.

What cute pics and great tips! I don’t have young children but used to teach preschool, and distracting is so helpful with little ones. (By the way, I am now craving popsicles!)

Twin pops would work for me! I love them. Problem is I would eat the whole bag all by myself. Shhh, don’t tell

Popsicles always make me think of summer! I was always partial to grape ones. We used to fight over them!

Ah, yes! I remember these posicles well. I have used them on several occasions to soothe a crying child’s cries. They were also great just to enjoy on a hot summer day. Lots of good memories with these popsicles.

We buy those exact same twin pops all the time! During the summer we stock up to 10 packs in the extra freezer for my son and and all his friends.

I remember those pops! Me and my friends loved them growing up! They don’t have anything like them in Norway but then again that isn’t surprising.

I didn’t know the history behind the Twin Pop. Interesting. I remember these from when I was a kid.
