We are nearing the end of Mistresses Season 2 and things are starting to heat up. How can they ever top the season ending crash that left us with dropped chins and tear streaked faces? I hopped on the phone with the Mistresses Executive Producers Rina Mimoun and KJ Steinberg to get the inside scoop on the final two episodes of Mistresses. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything for you and I’m not even going to talk about the finale……yet.
Grab your Moscato and have it chilled for Monday, August 25th at 10 PM ET. “Surprise”, the pre-finale episode of Mistresses is the beginning of what is going to be some wild rides for our ladies Savi, Joss, April, and Dr. Kim. Mistresses is all about friendship and these ladies remind us of why we need an amazing support circle in our lives. I have a feeling they are going to need each other more than they ever have before…..
April, in the middle of helping the FBI pinpoint Paul’s location, tries to keep her daughter Lucy from finding out what’s really going on between her and Daniel. One of Karen’s former lovers has startling news for her, causing her to do some soul-searching. Savi goes on a real date with Zack but it turns into something that neither could have predicted. While Joss is planning her engagement party, she and Harry have a wicked argument about him romancing their boss, the supermodel.
KJ: “The heart of the show is friendship. Those women are here to stay. We just come up with new characters and situations to throw at them. These last two episodes go back to the core people.
Knowing that Savi and Zach have an upcoming date, and knowing that my husband was like “are you serious? three guys in two seasons? come on!”…I had to ask about the future of Savi’s love life. Are we going to see more new men introduced into her life or is she going to focus on why these ones haven’t worked?
Rina: “The Zach relationship is existing to open Savi’s eyes on issues in her life. Like we saw in episode 9 and the issues with her father. There is a lot of stuff going on and we are not interested in her going from guy to guy. With Savi, we are going to be getting underneath why she is making these mistakes.
KJ: “Some girls really do go guy to guy though. For Savi, the experience she has with Zach in episode 12 will have her asking ‘Who am I? What am I doing? Why am I looking for men?‘”
When we were at the Mistresses Shoot in LA, we go the chance to meet Jess Macallan (Joss) and Justin Hartley (Scott) and I’m glad to see his role has been recurring the last few episodes. Now the he popped the question, does that mean he is here to stay? No. There is no word yet on a Mistresses Season 3, which means no word on if we will see Scott again after the finale. I will say that I hope so on both accounts!
This season of Mistresses, I have really fallen in love with April. The changes her character has shown, the situations she has overcome, and is still to overcome…they are pretty amazeballs as Joss would say. With big things coming with April and Daniel, we had to get the scoop.
Rina: “There is hope for them and there is going to be extenuating circumstances that find them back together. We will watch them navigate the mistrust.”
Dom. Oh how I hated you, then loved you, then hated you, then loved you and felt sorry for you. He may be single in the world of Mistresses but don’t think we are saying good-bye just yet.
Rina: Dom is technically single and in the last two episodes we will see Dom engaging with an actresses on the show he has yet to have a scene with. This isn’t a romantic scene, but it could be in Season 3…..
Seriously, you have no idea how much thinking I have been doing about this one. A disturbing amount. I have come to one conclusion. It has to be April or Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim or April. Am I right? But which one?!
KJ: Savi hasn’t always know who her soul mate is, but Dom has always known he loves Savi. Iit was more difficult for him to lose her. He may try to win her back….. we just don’t know…..
