As Alice Cooper says, “School’s Out For Summer!” and pencils, books, and backpacks have been traded in for sunglasses, bathing suits, and flip flops. To be a kid again, where summer meant three months of freedom.
Instead, I get to plan the fun activities and enjoy watching my kids be exactly that, kids. Don’t get me wrong, summer can get a little crazy, especially being a work at home mom. It’s when I stick to my Summer Sanity Saving Tips that it’s the most enjoyable though.

5 Summer Sanity Saving Tips
for Moms
1 – Manageable Summer Schedule
You don’t have to do ALL the things. Your kids don’t have to do ALL the things. Pick a few Summer sports, activities, and even camps, but leave some time to just enjoy Summer.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t enjoy wasting money and time doing things no one is enjoying. For what? To be able to say we did it (while thinking how awful it was)? No thanks.
2 – Pack Your Bags
No, you don’t have to go away on vacation to stay sane over the Summer, although that would be a major bonus, and extra credit if you get a weekend away without kids during the Summer.

Have a beach bag or park bag packed for Summer saves time and stress. Grab everything you need for a day of fun in the sun, like sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, and empty water bottles, and keep them all packed and ready to go.
3 – Plan For Summer Messes
If it makes a mess, my toddler twins LOVE to play with it and in it. Markers, paint, mud, and even food. If we head out to the backyard, they are going straight to the shovels, pails, and mud.
If there isn’t mud, they ask for water to create mud. I know it’s going to be messy and I stopped caring when I started planning.

There is a whole lot less stress when I’m prepared for the mess and have a game plan. I dress the kids in mud playing clothes, we always go out to play before bath time, and I bring along Bounty Advanced Paper Towels so they can pre-clean with the water spout outside, before entering the house.

4 – More Summer Responsibilities
I’m all about Summer being filled with fun but, with more free time also comes more responsibilities. Things like picking up the yard before dad mows, pulling weeds, sorting laundry, and even helping with the extra dishes that summer brings.
Seriously with the dishes though. Who wants to mess with dishes all day long in the summer? Not me, and that often means stuck on food but, oh well. I’ve got Dawn Platinum Advanced Power Dish Soap on my side and it delivers the power of an overnight soak in just SECONDS. Boom.

5 – Magic Erasers
Those two little words are a sanity saver for parents. I don’t care how old your kids are, there will be a time in your life where Magic Erasers will come to the rescue. Crayons, markers, lipstick, and the list goes on.
With toddler twins, a tween boy, and a teen girl, I’m best friends with my Magic Eraser. My husband didn’t believe until I was away on vacation when the twins found a stray crayon.
He swears by them now too. Anything he can run under water and quickly wipe up dirt and grime with is a winner for him.
I don’t know what it is about Magic Erasers that makes them so awesome, but I do know it’s the little details in P&G Household Needs products that make them different from other brands.

You can find you P&G Household Needs products are available at Costco, and in the perfect sizes to keep you sane this summer!
