My son turns 10 soon. Ten. The middle child scrunched between a teenage sister and three-year-old twins. It feels like he went from 5 to 10 in the blink of an eye. I’m guessing twins will do that to a family.

It’s time to slow things down, are you feeling the same way? Let’s all start to enjoy more moments with our children by taking the time to make a snack WITH them and chat, like this Simple Snack Time Charcuterie-Style Plate!

For me, 2016 is all about happiness, keeping things simple, and family memories. My son often gets the shaft when it comes to snack time after school.

If the twins are napping I’m usually catching up on work and if they aren’t napping, things are chaotic because they are excited he’s home.

This past week I cut the twins nap out (yay for earlier bedtime!) and started occupying them with crafts around the time my son comes home.

With just a little adjusting I’m bringing happy, simple memories back to snack time. You can too with something that’s a win-win for parents and kids, Goldfish® crackers!

My son loves helping me in the kitchen and was excited when I asked him to help me put together our special snack. Not only was it a special snack, but it was special time we got to spend together while making our Simple Snack Time Charcuterie-Style Plate.

If you want to make one of your own, grab a wooden kitchen board and the following deliciousness:

  • Goldfish Flavor Blasted® XTra Cheddar
  • Goldfish Pretzel
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Dip
  • Sliced Summer Sausage

To make the Peanut Butter Chocolate Dip simply mix together a spoonful of peanut butter and a spoonful of chocolate spread. It pairs perfectly with the Goldfish Pretzel crackers, as perfectly as snack time paired with great conversation.

I learned about my son’s day, that his reading score improved, and that he really loves to top his sliced sausage with Goldfish Pretzel crackers because “It’s SO good mom!”

Had I known that something like my Simple Snack Time Charcuterie-Style Plate was going to open up the conversation and give me smiles with my son, I would have been making it a long time ago.

Not only are Goldfish crackers the perfect solution for my kids snacking and mealtime recipes, but they are also one solution to my goals of a happy, simple 2016 full of family memories!

As a mother of four, can I just tell you that the 30oz bulk cartons of Goldfish snacks at Walmart are where it’s at! You can find them in the Cookies/Crackers aisle on Rollback right now, making it a great time to stock up for snacks and school lunches!

Which Goldfish crackers would you put on your Simple Snack Time Charcuterie-Style Plate?

Great idea! I have a middle child and I feel the same way, especially since youngest is special needs and gets the bulk of my attention. My son would love this special time with mom. Thanks Lisa!
