Being a work-at-home mom means all the meals fall on my shoulders. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts. Over the course of one week, I make roughly 50 meals and snacks. FIFTY.
When I say I only cook simple meals, I’m not joking, and now you know why. Today I’m sharing my go-to super simple kid-friendly lunches and snacks that you can make at the same time!
These simple kid-friendly lunches are my favorites because I can make snacks at the same time, with many of the same ingredients! The twins love turkey salad and I whip that up quite often.
I make turkey salad with a spring spinach mix, turkey, cheese, and dressing. As I’m making the salad, I also plate up turkey, cheese, and crackers with fruit for an afternoon snack!
Ham wraps and fruit salad are another easy lunch that frequents our table. Tortilla, ham, cheese, and lettuce makes an easy wrap. Then, while I’m cutting up the fruit for lunch, I skewer a few on a cake pop stick to serve with cups a yogurt for a snack later on. Can I just say that I save a lot of dishes when I make snacks while making lunches?
Kids love fruit kabobs and you can make them with all sorts of different fruits. Strawberries, pineapples, and kiwis are what I use lots of times. But I also like to toss bananas into the mix when I have them.
Another favorite simple kid-friendly lunch of ours is whole wheat macaroni with steamed veggies. I steam veggies in the microwave, but I also leave some fresh for snack time to dip with dressing.
My twins love dressing so I keep little containers in the fridge all ready to go. I can simply pull one out to place with the veggies that are ready to go. I also put yogurt in little containers to put with fruit kabobs, or even for tossing some granola on top.
You are probably thinking, forget about those little containers of dressing, what is that new juice drink you have there?! That my friends is Capri Sun Organic!
Capri Sun Organic recently hit the lunch scene and each pouch provides 1/2 cup fruit juice which is one serving of fruit according to the U.S. Dietary Guidelines.
Made with 66 percent fruit juice and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, Capri Sun Organic gives kids the taste they love and gives parents a wholesome drink option that they can feel good about serving.
These are just a few of the ways I keep lunch and snack time simple. When the menu is easy, and Capri Sun Organic is on hand, that means more time to play and clean up toddler messes.
Capri Sun Organic is available at retailers nationwide for $4.29 per 10 pack of 6-oz. pouches in the following flavors:
- Fruit Punch
- Tropical Punch
Hopefully, I gave you some new lunch ideas, as well as snacks, and helped you save some time during the day. Even though I’m usually feeding three-year-olds at lunch time, know that these lunches and Capri Sun Organic are also approved by my teenager! Little sis wasn’t to keen on sharing what she calls “HER new juice”, but I think they worked it all out.
