I cherish my friendships, even more after becoming a mom. They are my chat box to vent in, my cheers in celebration, and my girls night escape when dearly needed. Sharing secrets, fears, and sometimes menstrual cycles, girlfriends have a special bond. One that lets them know when a friend needs a little assist in the happiness department and PS Hello Cards from American Greetings have the perfect messages.
I’m the type of friend whose heart breaks when your’s is broken, gets blood flowing excitement for your wins, and sheds tears when life is dishing you a crappy hand. One of those hands has been dealt to a friend recently, and while shopping for Mother’s Day cards at Walmart , I stumbled upon the new line of PS Hello Card from American Greetings. One of them would totally brighten up my friend’s day.
I grabbed it, along with an adorable gift bag, and put together a PS Hello Friendship Gift Basket to make her smile. Do you have a friend who could use one of those? One of the gifts I tucked in the gift basket was so much fun to make. So much so that I had to share the instructions on how to make a DIY Tissue Paper Photo Canvas so you can tuck one into your PS Hello Friendship Gift Basket too! This idea would work great for all sorts of photos, including decorating the nursery and gifting to mom for Mother’s Day.
What You Need to Make a DIY Tissue Paper Photo Canvas
- Canvas in the size you want – I used a 6X6 square canvas
- White Tissue Paper
- Piece of Printer Paper or Cardstock
- Modge Podge
- Sponge Applicator
- Picture you want to use
How to Make a DIY Tissue Paper Photo Canvas
Step 1: Tape a piece of tissue paper on top of a piece of printer paper or cardstock.
Step 2: Print the picture you want from your printer onto the tissue paper covered paper.
Step 3: Let the ink dry before cutting out the picture and separating it from the printer paper.
Step 4: Cover the canvas in a very thin layer of Modge Podge. Begin laying it over the canvas. Start on one end and gently lay it across to cover the entire canvas. Smooth down the edges so they stick the sides of the canvas and Modge Podge down the corners like you would wrapping paper. Smooth out any bubbles by gently tapping on the canvas where the bubbles are. If you want a bit of an “aged look” you could leave a few wrinkles in.
Step 5: Let it dry overnight before hanging or gift giving.
Other things I tucked in the PS Hello Friendship Gift Basket were candy, a candle, and a cute cuddly, and fluffy stuffed animal. How can you not smile at all the cute deliciousness?!
