7 Reasons Kids Should Play Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App

Math was always the one class I struggled with. I earned all the extra credit I could to keep my grade above C level. When I started college I took basic level math so I wouldn’t fail. My kids know they can come to me for a lot of their homework help, but mama is no help with math. You can bet educational apps are my go-to for things like learning math, especially with Common Core, and Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App is what my twins are using this summer.

(This post is in partnership with Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App. Any opinions and love for awesome kids apps are 100% my own.)

If you have a child ages 3-6, I've got a great new app for learning math! Here are 7 reasons kids should play Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App.

Zap Zap Kindergarten Math is a new learning math app designed for kids ages 3-6. My twins have been playing for the last few days and they seem to really like it. Some of the excitement is because it’s new to them and they love getting new kids apps to play. But a lot of the excitement is because they are starting preschool in the fall and are at an age where they really love learning new things that make them feel like big kids. Watch the video below to see Zap Zap Kindegarten Math in action, and keep on reading to see why I think kids should play!

7 Reasons Kids Should Play Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App

#1 Great Preschool/Kindergarten Prep

My twins have colors and shapes down pat, can recite a mixed up alphabet, and count to 10. With them starting preschool in the fall, I’m focused on letters and numbers. They can recognize up to fours, and I’m pretty sure that is because they are four. Holding up four fingers when asked how hold they are, telling you if there are three crackers left, and letting you know when you didn’t get two so they could each have one. They are in the very early stages of math but, with my help right now they can play the fun math puzzles on the Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App. Plus, the app continually scales and tracks performance with each math problem, which ultimately makes it easier to keep tab on progress.

#2 Easy to Play

I also thing having vibrant colors are one of the reasons this app is easy to play. Functions of the app are super easy for small fingers, like flying the rocket ship around to different games, as well as playing the individual games. I sit with the twins and help them with what the math problems say, but I don’t have to do anything on screen for them which is nice.

#3 Mirrors Common Core

Common Core still confuses the heck out of me, and that is frustrating as a parent.  I wish I could take a Common Core class for parents, seriously. I can learn a little bit while my twins play because Zap Zap Kindergarten Math is based on the US Common Core syllabus. Aligned to Common Core Standards. Zap Zap Math covers a comprehensive range of math practice delivered in a structured, module-oriented manner that include Number Recognition, Plus and Minus, and Shapes and Measurement.

#4 Twins Can Play Together

As a mom of twins, I love apps and games twins can play together. While I didn’t see a way to set up different profiles within Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App, my twins could solve problems together or take turns during the games.

#5 Calming Music and Vibrant Colors

I don’t know if annoying app music bothers you as much as me, but I’m grateful for the calming music on Zap Zap Kindergarten Math. I don’t have to get out the headphones or make them mute sound. They can enjoy the app to its fullest and it’s actually nice right before quiet time. Plus, the vibrant colors on Zap Zap Math are great for learning colors too! Things like planets and the rocket ship really stand out, and I think that adds to the excitement while playing.

#6 Engaging

Zap Zap Kindergarten Math doesn’t just give your child a math problem. It really engages them throughout the math games. From picking your avatar, to flying around choosing your own games, to celebrating achievements.

#7 FUN Educational App

My final reason on why kids should play Zap Zap Kindergarten Math App is because it’s a FUN educational app! Parents can rest assured knowing their child is safe using this online kids app, and they are actually learning. Even though it’s all about learning, the level of fun involved keeps young kids entertained and engaged.

Zap Zap Kindergarten Math is available in the Apple Store and Google Play and I highly recommend checking it out if you have a child between the ages of 3-6.
