Earth Day was my kids last day of spring break, so we spent it having fun outdoors, even though it was a little chilly and windy. Welcome to spring in Iowa where it’s 86 one day and 50 the next.
The clouds didn’t stop us from making DIY bird feeders for our birdy friends and hitting the park to run off some energy and enjoy a little snack.
I surprised them with NEW Ocean Spray® Growing Goodness™ Kids Juice Drinks recently out on store shelves and available through online grocery pick-up from Walmart. My twins give them two thumbs up and let me tell ya, these 6-year-olds are pretty vocal about their likes and dislikes.
Two pouches in, they had both found a favorite flavor of Ocean Spray® Growing Goodness™ juice drinks. I didn’t tell them the flavors until after they had tried them both as to not sway their decisions.
His favorite is Ocean Spray® Growing Goodness™ Cranberry Apple Peach Flavor Juice Beverage with added health benefits that may support immune health with 130% vitamin C!
Her favorite is Ocean Spray® Growing Goodness™ Cranberry Kiwi Strawberry Flavor Juice Beverage with added health benefits that may support digestive health with a good source of fiber.
This came as no surprise with her love for strawberries and I finally have a new juice drink to pack in her school lunches every day!
Both Ocean Spray® Growing Goodness™ Juice Beverages are made with real fruit juice, no artificial colors and no sugar added. I don’t know about you, but I try to limit how much sugar my kids get each day, or they would drive me bonkers.
With naturally occurring sugar and 39% juice in the Cranberry Kiwi Strawberry Flavor and 40% juice in the Cranberry Apple Peach Flavor, both the kids and I are happy. Especially when they are paired with Caramel Corn & Craisins® Snack Mix!
I found this snack mix recipe on Ocean Spray’s Growing Goodness™ website and it’s super easy to make. All you need are caramel or kettle popcorn, Craisins dried cranberries, honey roasted peanuts (my favorite kind!), and chocolate chips. A yummy snack mix that is great for munching on during movie night or taking on the go.
The DIY Bird Feeders I mentioned earlier, that we made before heading to the park, were also on the Growing Goodness™ Website.
My twins had a BLAST making these and are eager for all of our robins to return for a bite to eat. I knew the handfuls of pine cones they HAD to bring home from the park last week would come in handy.
A little peanut butter, Craisins® dried cranberries, and bird seed put on a pinecone and you’ve got yourself a bird feeder that will get gobbled up!
We tied a little ribbon around the top of each pinecone and then tied it to itself to make a loop for hanging off the branches.
A little tip; make these outdoors as it can get messy with little kids. The plus side is the birds and squirrels (and probably raccoons) should eat the remnants off the patio table…
Another tip, there is tons of more games, activities, and content for parents and kids at OSGrowingGoodness.com. One of the games, Grand Gathering, is available for download in the Apple Store or on Google Play and I highly recommend it.
There are three new games: Flavor Match, Berry Harvest, and Leap Race and they are great for kids of all age, just like Ocean Spray® Growing Goodness™ Juice Drinks you can now find at Walmart!
