I Love That You Love Fantasy Football

Dear Husband,

September to December I share you. Not with another woman – with a whole bunch of men. Draft day to the championship game I actually do listen to you ramble on about who to start or bench each week. I do that because I love that you love fantasy football.

I see your ear to ear grin when you outscore your opponent of the week. On Sunday, when he has no guys left to play and you still have four to play on Monday night. A smile that reminds me why you look forward to these four months of the year. Because you are REALLY good at drafting and can’t talk about that enough. I’ll keep listening because I love that you love fantasy football.

You sing “All I do is win win win no matter what” 17 weeks in a row and it still makes me laugh. You named one of your teams “ThereCanOnlyBeJuan” because of how it sounds in the weekly reports and it makes you laugh every week. A laugh that I never get tired of hearing because it’s true happiness. It brings you happiness and that’s why I love that you love fantasy football.

I may not understand all the ins and outs of it all. Sometimes I get annoyed that football is on the TV yet again on a Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. But I will always love that you love fantasy football because it puts that spark in your eye and $140 in your pocket every time you win the championship.

Love,

Your Biggest Cheerleader
