When you are heading to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a work conference, it only makes sense to plan a stop at Mall of America and experience the rides at Nickelodeon Universe. Especially if you’ve never experienced either.
That’s just what I did recently and man was it an experience for the memory bank! Not only did I get to make the trip to SoFabUOTR with two fabulous bloggers, but they also hit Nick Universe with me.
(I was provided with a Free Rides Wristband. Any opinions are 100% my own.)
I didn’t know quite what to expect when I got to Mall of America and the awesomeness that is Nickelodeon Universe. The rides were bigger than I anticipated and there was something for pretty much everyone to enjoy. Kids rides, family rides, thrill rides, carnival games, and more, all in the center of Mall of America!
Experience the Rides at Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America
The rides at Nickelodeon Universe aren’t just any rides, they are rides themed by favorite Nickelodeon characters! Little kids will love the new Bubble Guppies Guppy Bubbler!
Swim into your bubble gondola and soar high above it all, for a Guppy’s-eye-view of the deep! And keep a lookout for that playful Bubble Puppy who’s always up to something!
Other sweet kids rides and family rides include Back at the Barnyard Hayride rollercoaster, Big Rigs, Pineapple Poppers, Rugrats Reptarmobiles, Wonder Pets Flyboat, Swiper’s Sweeper, Ferris Wheel, Carousel, and more.
If you are a thrill seeker at heart, you’ll find something to increase those endorphins. Take a ride on Spongebob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge and you won’t be disappointed.
The two girls I was with braved the ride and LOVED it. Pretty sure I didn’t hear a quiet seat at any point on the ride. So many twists turns, and a pretty steep drop.
One of the rides at Nickelodeon Universe I didn’t expect to see was a log ride, but…they have one! The Log Chute takes you on a water adventure with a 40ft drop!
Once again the two girls I traveled with took a ride on this one and had a blast. One of them may or may not have gotten off looking like she had an accident!
You’ll also find the Longest Indoor Zipline inside Mall of America at Nickelodeon Universe. There was always someone zipping across while we were there. Adults and kids alike. After the zipline you can take a journey through Dutchman’s Deck Adventure Course which looked super fun.
Okay, so about all those rides I wanted to ride or didn’t get on. You see, we walked around and made a plan of attack the night before we hit the rides.
I was feeling ambitious and was going to “RIDE ALL THE RIDES” and the first one I got one was Avatar Airbender. Oh, Avatar Airbender how I loved you because my kids loved you and now you had to go and make me all sick…
I watched Avatar Airbender. Counted the spins and watched the speed. I moved forward with the line and brushed off the feeling in my gut trying to remind of the last time I rode a ride that messed with my equilibrium. My body isn’t like the thrill loving body it was when I was a teen.
Yet I rode it anyway.
About 20 seconds after getting off the ride the feeling of “that was AHmazing” was overshadowed by head-spinning nausea.
I didn’t get sick in front of all the families at Nickelodeon Universe thankfully. Nope, not until I got back to the hotel because I’m classy.
Seriously though Avatar Airbender was an awesome ride, I just wish I had saved it for last because I couldn’t ride anything else after that.
Even after that, I still can’t wait to experience the Rides at Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America with my family! I’m sure I will be riding less thrilling rides with my kiddos. but there are so many things to do and so many rides to still ride!
