As a mom a little stressed about back to school, and a family that loves Del Monte, I’m excited to bring you this post on Tips to Prepare for Back to School! This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Del Monte, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #DelMonteBTS
Today is the day we start getting back into our regular school routine. Some kids have already headed back to school, but us? Two weeks.
That means two weeks to get the kids back in the swing of waking up early in the morning, get the remaining school supplies and school clothes purchased, and oh who am I kidding…getting up in the morning and getting back in the swing of things is harder for me than it is for them! You?
Working from home means a more relaxed schedule, especially over the Summer. Basically, I have two weeks to start liking early mornings and the alarm clock again.
Let’s face it, I’ve been spoiled having the older two home, especially Tween Girl. It will be just Slobber Monster, Monkey Girl, and I which means I’m outnumbered.
Whether you are going to be outnumbered or waking up before Price is Right for the first time in 3 months, here are some tips to prepare!
5 Tips to Prepare for Back To School.
Tip 1) Set the alarm and don’t snooze. Hitting that snooze button defeats the whole purpose of what we are trying to do here and will make it harder when you don’t have the option to snooze. Don’t get me wrong, me and the snooze button used to be besties…that was before twins…
Tip 2) Easy breakfasts make the morning go smoother, for us anyways. I save the fancy smancy breakfasts for weekends when I have more time but when you have four mouths to feed (two being toddlers) the easier the better.
I’ve been buying Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers for a while now for the twins. They love them with breakfast and they are an easy breakfast which is helpful when school gets back in session.
Tip 3) Get organized. Clean out the coat closet so the kids can easily hang up coats and backpacks. Get a homework/school note station set up so things don’t start getting lost.
Don’t have a calendar yet? Pick one up so you know who needs to be where and when.
Tip 4) Plan ahead so you don’t fall behind. Line up carpools if you need to, line up clothes for the first week of school, and start planning those school lunches if your kiddo packs one from home. Little Man eats lunch from home at least 95% of the time.
With all those lunches to make, I try to make it easy on myself, but also delicious and nutritious. Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers are going to be a go-to for school lunches this year. I had no idea Little Man was going to
like love them too and they would make packing his lunch box easier too.
You see, when it comes to fruit in his lunch, Little Man is picky with a capital P. Apples can’t turn brown and bananas can’t have bruises. With Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers I don’t have to worry about any of that!
I made sure to stock up at Walmart the other day so I can pop a pack in his lunch box and check fruit off the list. With flavors like Blueberry, Apple & Cinnamon, Mixed Berry, Strawberry, and Peach Mango, he can have a different one every day of the week!
There is one thing I wish Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers had…a little spot on the package where I could write a lunch box note. I always include a funny note for Little Man in case he needs a pick me up in the middle of the day.
I made some notes ahead of time on PicMonkey and it was really easy to do. If you want to get ahead of the lunch box game, check out the steps below.
- Head to PicMonkey and select Design It
- Choose the Square (I resized it to 250X250)
- Add Color, Text, Images (I love that they feature text and images for holidays and events!)
- Save and Print OR
- Save and Make More and upload them to a collage to print altogether.
I created the four DIY Lunch Box Notes below using PicMonkey. The corkboard note was especially fun. I simply added the cork board background, added a square and changed the color to white, added a pushpin, and added text.
Super easy, almost as easy as Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers make lunch, and unique! The Back to School and Halloween Themes are available now making for lots of fun DIY Lunch Box Notes!
