When I married my husband, I didn’t realize it was going to be in sickness, and in cereal. When it comes to food, cereal is his ultimate love. His midnight snack of choice is a bowl of cereal, that he usually fills twice.
He has always looked forward to that first bowl of cereal shared with our kids. Cereal has never been just breakfast for him, it’s been a bowl of bonding, that has gone beyond the bowl.

Thanks to hubby’s love for cereal, breakfast brings the family together and helps start the day off on a good foot. He really has kicked up the love of cereal a notch for everyone in the family.
So much so that cereal makes an appearance at breakfast and dinner when I serve Crunch O Chicken coated in cereal. My favorite cereal coating of choice right now is Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Crunch O’s! It’s a new cereal on the block, and it’s the perfect cereal for coating chicken breasts with!
Crunch O Chicken Recipe
Crunch O Chicken Ingredients
- 4 Chicken Breasts
- 4 Cups Honey Bunches of Oats Crunch O’s
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup Milk
To start your Crunch O Chicken you’ll want to rinse the chicken breasts so the coating sticks better. Now it’s time to get the coating ready. Place 4 cups of Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Crunch O’s in a plastic bag and crush it with a rolling pin or your hand.

Once the cereal is crushed, it’s time to beat the eggs and milk together in a container. Then, dip each chicken breast in the egg/milk mixture, making sure to coat all sides. Now place the chicken breast in the bag of cereal of flip it all around to cover.

Now it’s time to fry those Crunch O Chicken breasts to bring them to crunchified levels. Cover the bottom of a large frying pan with 1/2 inch of oil and set the heat to medium-high. When the oil reaches 350 degrees it is ready for the chicken.

Place the Crunch O’ Chicken Breasts gently in the oil (using tongs if you have them) and let it cook for about 12 minutes, flipping the pieces over every 2 minutes. The chicken breasts are done when the juices run clear and their temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

If you are wondering how amazing the Crunch O Chicken tasted, let me tell ya…..they were crunch-tastic and have become my new favorite way to bread chicken breasts.
When your cupboards are already filled with cereal, it makes sense to not only eat it for breakfast but as a great solution for all occasions, including when you need to bread chicken!

When it comes to bonding, we can go breakfast or we can go dinner, but either way, it is cereal that brings us together. Thanks to the variety of flavors that Post offers, there is something to make everyone in the family happy.

I can stroll the cereal aisle at Walmart and get something crunchy for me, like Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Crunch O’s, and something fruity for my husband, like Berry Colossal Crunch, and then grab something for my kids with a little marshmallow surprise, like Kung Fu Panda Po Power Crunch Cereal that you can get at Walmart right now!
What fun ways do you use cereal for dinner?
