The twins are just over a year old and have mouths full of teeth already. They brush their little chompers every day and have their first dental visit under their belts.
I’m talking about taking care of first teeth because February is National Children’s Dental Health Month! If your little one is cutting teeth, I have some tips on preparing for the first dental visit.
Tips for Preparing for the
First Dental Visit
Make Brushing at home fun! Toothbrushes that are fun colors, designs, or themes can make brushing time more fun for little ones.
Watch cartoons or animated movies about the dentist to familiarize your little one with the experience.
Have pretend dentist visits with your child’s dolls or stuffed animals.
Bring along your child’s special item for comfort.
If you are visiting a new dentist office, call before the appointment and find out what you can expect. That is a great way to calm your own nerves if they are bothering you.
