I’ve shopped on Black Friday for almost 18 years now. I missed a few years here and there. I no longer wait in freezing cold lines for things we don’t need.
I do enjoy the tradition of it and spending time with my best friend. Over the years we’ve learned a lot of tips and tricks. Below are some of our favorite Black Friday Shopping Tips Get prepared for Black Friday and Maximize your savings!
Stores are opening earlier each year and offer scattered sales. This isn’t always a good thing when you are trying to make your Black Friday Plan of Action.
Being prepared can help you stay calm and avoid blowing your budget. Use these tips as we prepare ourselves for the biggest shopping day of the year!
Best Black Friday Shopping Tips
#1 Make a list of what items you are hoping to find deals on. Knowing early can help you start watching for sales and bonus offers that go along with your must have items.
#2 Schedule your stops in order of importance. Start your list with the items that are top priority. Also keep in mind the opening times of each store.
#3 Pack your bag with everything you need. Chapstick to extra gloves and even something to keep all your receipts in. I have the cashier give me the receipt instead of putting it in the bag.
#4 Mobile Coupons and Ads sent right to your smartphone avoid you having to carry around all the ads. Being able to redeem your coupons via your phone can also speed up the checkout process as well.
#5 Follow your favorite retailers online via Facebook, Twitter, and newsletters. This will help you stay on top of the sales and promotions. It may even score you a special deal as Black Friday approaches.
#6 Map out your route by hitting the stores before Black Friday. Scope out the possible layout of hot items. Some stores also offer maps of the Hot Black Friday Deals so you know exactly where to go.
I love when they do that! One year Target even had carts lined up with the large items ready to go. That was awesome!
#7 Have Fun and don’t forget to dress warm. One year I added to our tradition by wearing a Santa Hat. It is a great conversation starter when standing in line and well, it’s just fun.
