Check out my favorite Adventures in Babysitting Quotes along with cast and creator interviews!

A few months ago I was in LA covering Captain America: Civil War thanks to Disney/Marvel/ABC. Part of that adventure included screening Disney Channel’s Original Movie “Adventures in Babysitting” and interviewing Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson! It was a fun day and I can finally spill the beans now that Adventures in Babysitting premieres tomorrow night.

We ain’t no quitters. We’re the babysitters.

ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING – Press Day. (Disney Channel/Rick Rowell)SOFIA CARSON, SABRINA CARPENTER

The first thing you need to know is that this film is not a remake of the 1980’s Adventures in Babysitting. It does follow the same story-line concept and some moments are reminiscent of the Elisabeth Shue version, including Jenny Parker’s jacket. This version speaks to today’s generation with a modern, hip, rock-n-roll feel to it. Adventures in Babysitting now isn’t trying to be Adventures in Babysitting then. It’s bringing a new way to enjoy a loved story with our families.

I was a big fan and my mom was a big fan of the movie. To be able to create a new version of such a classic, beloved tale for this new generation, was something I was honored to do. It was an incredible experience. Apparently I have a thing with, like, sequels, and remakes. So… – Sofia Carson

I have to admit that I had mixed feelings after screening the film. I loved the original and had trouble separating that love at first. But, when I remind myself that it has nothing to do with that film, and look at it as its own movie, it’s actually a great family film.

A funny, honest look at teen life, and something I think anyone kindergarten up would sit through and enjoy. That being said, I want to share some of my favorite Adventures in Babysitting quotes from this film.

Adventures in Babysitting Quotes

  • You are smart. You are talented. Just do your best and stay calm. – Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter)
  • I’m not nerdy. I’m dedicated. – Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter)
  • Art is spontaneous…..say cheese! – Lola Perez (Sofia Carson)
  • Babysitting Rule #1 – Never Take Your Eyes Off the Kids – Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter)
  • Babysitting Rule #2 – Leave No Child Behind – Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter)
  • Babysitting Rule #3 – You Never Put a Boy Before Kids – Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter)
  • I’m not a quitter. I’ll take care of these kids cuz I’m the babysitter. – Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter)
  • You’re not invisible. Be your awesome self, that’s enough. – Lola Perez (Sofia Carson)
  • There are moments in life when you have to take a risk and go for it.  – Lola Perez (Sofia Carson)
  • What about fun, free time, and living outside the box. – Lola Perez (Sofia Carson)

After screening Adventures in Babysitting, we got the chance to chat with Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson. They were both as polite, professional, and sweet as you could imagine.

We quickly saw what Sofia was talking about when she said “we all became family” as she and Sabrina teased and chatted like sisters. They both took home bras from the set, which is also a total sister move don’t you think?!

We all became like a family, and we had little parties every weekend, all of us. We were singing and dancing, karaoke and improv games. – Sofia Carson

One thing As Mom Sees It noticed during the movie, was a bit of limp from Sofia Carson. Turns out Sofia did get a bit of an injury during filming. In the beginning, there is a scene where Lola is running to her jeep with her artwork and she jumps over bushes. During shooting of that scene, she fell and the blame goes to wet pavement.

If you are wondering about bloopers on the Adventures in Babysitting DVD, there are some and you don’t want to miss them. Sofia mentioned that “Sabrina is the funniest you will ever meet” so I’m guessing laughter is in store with outtakes. Plus, some fun of Sabrina driving, which she doesn’t really know how to do, nor have a permit.

She’s not that funny. – Sofia Carson

That’s what I was gonna say! I was like, I’m not funny. No, but that’s what makes her funny is that she knows that she’s not funny. And I’m not funny. I’m so lame, but with the script, she’s so funny. – Sabrina Carpenter

Oh, thank you. – Sofia Carson

No problem. Like, if she had writers for her all the time, she’d be so funny. – Sabrina Carpenter

I’d be hysterical. Good thing I’m an actress. And Sabrina’s probably the funniest person you will ever meet. No. She doesn’t need a script. – Sofia Carson

Thanks. Love you. – Sabrina Carpenter

I love you. – Sofia Carson

When it comes to Lola and Jenny, they are opposite yet alike in a lot of ways. We asked Sofia and Sabrina who they were more like, and the answer is the definition of best friends.

I would say I’m kind of an in between. Lola is this really cool free spirited young girl who isn’t afraid to just live life, despite the consequences of sometimes making irresponsible decisions. But she’s really passionate about her art and a very strong girl. And I’m also very passionate about, I think we both are, about what we do about our music and acting. And we’re both also… I’m just gonna answer this for both of us…. – Sofia Carson

Yeah, yeah. – Sabrina Carpenter

…independent girls. You know. We both have really strong, incredible moms. They taught us to be strong girls, or represent girl power. Lola and Jenny are both like that. Jenny would know she’s a little bit more inside the box. She’s still a strong, powerful young girl. We both save the day together. – Sofia Carson

What she said. – Sabrina Carpenter

One of my favorite scenes in Adventures in Babysitting is toward the end. The night is winding down and something big is about happen for Jenny. The girls get her ready for that moment and it really is something special.

I love the simple bathroom makeover scene for Jenny. She’s not getting a full makeover where they’re glamming her up and making her look like someone she’s not. But, just kind of letting her hair down in a way where she can be a little bit more adventurous like Lola. It just kind of shows you what she’s taken from this whole adventure that they’ve had together, and how she’s a little bit more confident than she was before.

Another favorite scene is the rap battle and my favorite line of the film, “We aren’t quitters. We’re the babysitters!” It’s set up as an impromptu rap battle between Jenny and Lola and let me just say you will be impressed. Not only is the rapping epic, but you see a change in the relationship between the two babysitters that sets a tone for the rest of the film.

It was just such a fun scene to shoot. It was so high energy. The music was awesome. The energy in the club was great. The kids were so cute and so hysterical. We had a great shoot. That moment was kind of the beginning of their friendship, because until then, they never really understood each other or really saw anything in each other they could relate to. But in that moment they kind of were on equal ground for the first time. And we’re, like, this girl’s kinda cool…and despite their differences, they start this really beautiful friendship throughout the film. – Sabrina Carpenter

Between Disney’s Descendants, Girl Meets World, and now Adventures in Babysitting, Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson have become big influencers in girls lives. After meeting them both in person, I can say that they are great role models from the inside out.

It is an honor to be able to be in a position where we can influence young girls. And it’s a big responsibility, but it’s a beautiful responsibility because, you know, as we were growing up, we looked up to actors and singers to be our role models as well. Their voice, and what they stand for always influenced us so much. I think we’re very lucky if they were to tell stories, like Lola and Jenny’s story. Like Edie’s story, who represent girl power, you know, ’cause girls can take over the world. I think it’s an honor to be able to be able to share these stories with them. – Sofia Carson

Well, and also the fact that I think Sofia and I both, had such big dreams and aspirations as to what we wanted to do. And I think the fact that we’ve been able to figure out those dreams and not only get to do them every day, but, you know, love what we do every day is hopefully an inspiration to girls everywhere, and boys, to figure out what they want to do. And make sure that whatever they do in life, that they love it, so that way they don’t have to work a day in their life. – Sabrina Carpenter
