Having an amazing husband means I’m able to travel for work. He holds down the fort, takes over everything for all four kids, and sometimes even takes time off work. After a few trips, I realized why he doesn’t mind. There are certain things my husband reserves for when I’m out of town. Have you ever wondered the things dads do when moms are away? Thanks to tattling toddlers and a teenager with a cellphone, I can tell you. 😉
I’m more of a stickler for routine. I work from home with toddler twins so some sort of routine keeps me sane. The whole routine doesn’t go out the window when I travel, but bedtime is sort of non-existent. In my house, staying up late playing video games and streaming zombie movies is on the top of the list things dads do when moms are out of town.
Wrestle While You Work
There is no secret that my husband is the fun one. There is also no secret that him wrestling with the kids makes me anxious that someone is accidentally going to get hurt. The squeals, giggles and cheek to cheek smiles tell me the kids love it the horsing around. But, they do their best to reserve wrestling with dad for when mom is out of town.
Final Clean Down
My husband is not a fan of cleaning up after four kids 90 bajillion times day. It does get old cleaning up the same messes all day long, but I’m used to it at this point. He on the other hand, will leave everything until the day before I get home. He and the kids do a final clean down and tackle it all at once before I walk in the door. Honestly, I don’t care as long as it’s clean when I get home, am I right?!
I’m Not A Dishwasher
Speaking of cleaning, I’m not a fan of dishes, but my husband hates them more. We would always have disposable dishes if he had his way, especially because we don’t have a dishwasher. When I’m out of town, the number one thing my husband avoids is dishes. I stock up on disposable silverware, plates, and cups so he can avoid as many dishes as possible. I also pick up frozen meals, like STOUFFER’S ® FIT KITCHEN™ at Walmart, so he avoid cooking for himself too. 😉
I gotta be honest, I picked up some of the new STOUFFER’S ® FIT KITCHEN™ meals for him recently, and they had me drooling. They contain 25g+ of protein and are made with wholesome ingredients, but lets talk about the flavors! What dad would say no to STOUFFER’S® FIT KITCHEN™ Chicken Teriyaki on a disposable plate when their wife is out of town?! 😀
If you have a husband like mine who could live on gas station food if you let him, he may turn an eyebrow at the fact that STOUFFER’S® FIT KITCHEN™ contains NO artificial flavors. But, once he tastes the quality and wholesome ingredients in dishes like STOUFFER’S® FIT KITCHEN™ Sweet & Smoky BBQ, he will be nothing but smiles and yums!
If you are wondering what other things dads do when moms are away, book yourself a mini vacation and ask the kids about their adventure when you get home. 😉 Stock dad up on STOUFFER’S® FIT KITCHEN™ at Walmart so he can avoid some messes while you are gone, and you can come home to a clean house.
