Anyone else counting down to St. Patrick’s Day?! In all of my adult years, I’ve never gone out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Totally okay with being at home, and having fun with my kids while enjoying snacks and drinks. Safe, fun, and easy. I love setting up holiday themed after school snack tables for my kids to come home to, and St. Patrick’s Day is no different. This year we’ll be sipping on Sour Green Apple Spritzers with 7UP®.
I don’t go all out and decorate the house for St. Patrick’s Day. A holiday tablecloth, snacks, holiday themed drink, and some fun printables are all that’s needed. I found lots of St. Patrick’s Day crossword puzzles and coloring pages to print online. Laying out those and some crayons in a pot have kids digging right in!
Snacks get kicked up a notch on holidays, too. Easy snacks that can be done in under 10 minutes. Puppy chow with a bit of melted white chocolate and green sugar crystals. Another easy St. Patrick’s Day snack is crispy treats on sticks, dipped in melted white chocolate and green sugar crystals.
Sour Green Apple Spritzer with 7UP
Usually the drink is the shining star of the holiday table. I made Sour Green Apple Spritzers with 7UP recently, and we loved them. They asked for them again so I’m making them for St. Patrick’s Day.
- Sweet & Sour Mix
- Lemon and Lime Slices
- Sugar Crystals and Corn Syrup for rimming the glass (optional)
First rim the glass by dipping it in corn syrup and sugar crystals, if you want. Then, pour 6oz of 7UP into a glass. Having kids in the house, 12oz 7UP is a great size and one of them makes two of these drinks!
Next, toss in a lime and lemon slice, and pour in a shot of Sweet & Sour Mix. Now is a great time to add in a shot of liquor for yourself, if you want.
Add a lemon or lime slice to the edge if you’d like, and enjoy! A delicious green drink for St. Patrick’s Day the kids (and adults) can enjoy!
In less than a half hour, you can throw together this St. Patrick’s Day snack table. Something small that will make big memories. After all the sipping and snacking, go on a St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt to find a pot of “gold” chocolate coins and you’ve got yourself an afternoon of fun!
