This post on Saving Money When Starting Preschool was made possible by iConnect and Luvs. I was provided compensation to facilitate this post, but all opinions stated are 100% mine.
I have a call this week to find out when the twins will have preschool screening. I’m excited and sad all at the same time. I know they will love being around kids, after being with boring old mom for so long 😉 but I will miss spending all day every day with them. As I prepare, I’m thinking about ways of saving money when starting preschool. Thankfully I have experience times two at this!
#1 Consider Options
Some areas offer free preschool and others offer fee based preschool. Look at all the options for preschool in your area, and consider both quality and cost.
Check big brother and big sister’s school supply stash for anything left over or extra they have. Every year when back to school rolls around, I always find brand new supplies from the previous year that I can use.
#3 Swap Groups and Garage Sales
Keep your eyes out in swap groups and at garage sales for back to school supplies and clothes. Check in on school websites for community events offering school supplies to students as well.
#4 Attend Back to School Night
If your school has a back to school night before the first day, attend if you can. I always check with the teachers about supplies and often find their needs are different than the districts lists. Quickly asking at back to school night helps me save me money on the wrong supplies.
#5 Get Appy
Money saving apps put money back in your pocket and that’s exactly what you want when back to school shopping. Ibotta is an app I started using about a year ago, and while I got away for the past few months, I’m back at earning cash back because back to school shopping gets expensive.
Here’s how Ibotta works, for those who are unfamiliar with this app.
- Download the FREE iBotta App via IOS or Android
- Before shopping, choose your offers and unlock the rebates. There are lots of stores and items to choose from, and the more you choose, the more cash back you’ll earn.
- Buy your chosen products at any of the major retailers that Ibotta supports.
- Take a photo of your receipt and upload it via the app, or link supported loyalty cards to have purchases verified that way.
- Get your cash, yes, real money, deposited into your PayPal account within 48 hours.
Preschool is often the breaking point with potty-training. I remember packing a change of clothes and plastic bag for preschool accidents. Diapers were often on hand just in case too. If diapers happen to be on your shopping list right now, Luvs has partnered with Ibotta to offer a limited-time $5 rebate on any boxed variety of Luvs diapers, 54ct. box or larger. To make it even sweeter, the official diaper of experienced moms, Luvs is offering opportunities to save on diapers this month with a $2 print-at-home coupon. You can use this Luvs coupon at any mass, discount, or grocery stores where Luvs Diapers are sold.
Softer and more absorbent than ever before, with large stretch tabs for easy fastening, ultra-leakage protection and a money-back guarantee, Luvs Ultra Leakguards with NightLock Plus™ provide the high-quality features babies and parents need for less cost than the premium brands.
