“Does this make me grow?” “See how much taller I am mom!” “When am I going to be tall like you?”
If you hear those questions frequently, you probably have kids getting excited about their growth! At least twice a day the twins want me to check and see if they’ve grown. It’s been going on for weeks now and I think they are getting impatient because they were trying to “boost” each other up the growth chart by lifting each other up! There are some fun things you can do for kids who gets excited about growing like the twins, and I’m sharing what we do with you today.
Getting Excited About Growing
We’ve always tracked growth of our kids, albeit on the door trim of the closet, but they love it so much. The door trim is getting pretty full and confusing after tracking four kids, so we hung up a growth chart for the twins. Man were they excited to have their very own chart, to share.
Capturing pictures of growing stages is a fun way to look back on your little one. Take them monthly, every school year, or after each yearly check-up to see how they’ve changed over the years. Who knows, you may also inadvertently capture a boo-boo memory so you can remind them what happens when they don’t listen, play with water in the bathroom, and slip.
Talk About Milestones
As kids grow to new heights, milestones are reached. Maybe they get to graduate to a new car seat, or finally get to ride that roller coaster they’ve been wanting too. Talk about the new things that happen as they reach new heights to get them excited about growing.
Celebrate New Heights
It doesn’t have to be a big party or fancy outing. A simple snack and coloring pages while you share some high fives is a great way to celebrate new heights.
When the twins show growth on the chart, they know to run to the fridge for a Mott’s Juice Pouch or apple sauce. Mott’s is full of real fruit goodness and is an excellent source of vitamins to help your little ones start strong and grow strong. As soon as they hear the word strong, my twins are sold. They want to be taller and stronger like their big brother and sister. Sound like your kids too?
As you can see, my fridge is stocked with Mott’s for all sorts of reasons. Afternoon snack time at the picnic table, mom’s me time, and celebrating growing. No matter the occasion, Mott’s helps your kids be healthy, whether it’s school lunches, daytime snacks, or family meal time.
